Justin Holt
Justin’s parents gave him their 8-track player when he was four. His first real present was a Fisher Price cassette player. With the first money he earned, he bought a CD-player. This past Christmas he got a turntable. His first cassette was Michael Jackson’s Thriller, the first CD he purchased was Metallica’s Black Album, and the first record he bought was Flogging Molly’s Within A Mile Of Home. The first time he realized that he loved to write, Meatloaf’s “Bat Out Of Hell” was playing in the background.
Justin graduated from Edinboro University with a B.A. in English-Writing. He finished his first novel Payday in 2005. He has spent the years since revisiting that novel, false-starting on others, and writing meandering essays on the albums that have impacted him the most.
Justin loves the New York Yankees, driving aimlessly on the back roads of life, and thin pizza. His favorite writer is Richard Russo, his favorite singer is Bob Dylan, and he prefers Rocky II to the original because he wins at the end. He lives in Rochester, NY but has a virtual abode at www.justinholt.net.
